1. How do I get my university library registration number?
Access to library services is subject to registration by the library staff. Library services are available to Students and Staff
2. How do I borrow a book?
Present your school or staff I.D. to the Circulation Desk, together with the materials to be borrowed. It will be issued under your account.
3. How many books can I borrow?
  • Academic staff: 6 items
  • Students: 4 item
  • Non-Teaching staff: 6 items
4. How many times can I renew an item?
Students will be allowed to renew information materials in their possession once, while staff twice. However, materials on high demand will not be renewed.
5. How do I know when to return the materials?
The date due is always stamped at the back of the book. Also you can access it by login into o your account, under materials.

7. How can I recommend what the library should purchase?
Registered users can recommend the books they wish the library to purchase through submitting the details of the book to the librarian by login into their account and going to the purchase suggestion link.
8. Why do I have to leave my bag with security?
This is purely a security measure designed to ensure your luggage and library resources are secure.
9. How do I find books in the library ?
Books are arranged on the shelves using the Library of Congress (LC) Classification System.The arrangement is alphanumeric by Call Numbers in ascending order. A Call Number is a unique address written on the spine of a book. It comprises a combination of letters and numbers denoting the main subject division and subdivisions, book mark and the year of publication. The call number is used to locate books on the shelf.
10. How do I use the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC)?
The OPAC is a database of all information resources held in the Library. The database is updated continuously as new items are processed. The OPAC is accessible from the internet. To retrieve the record of a book or any other information resource from the OPAC, search by keyword, author, subject etc. On getting the results, note the call number and proceed to the appropriate shelf to retrieve the resource using the call number.
Perform your search by typing in the dialog box provided. It contains options for Title, Authour, Subject, ISBN, Series and Call number.
11. Can a patron with overdue books continue to borrow?
Patrons who have overdue books cannot borrow unless they pay the necessary fines
12. What is the fine for overdue books?
  • Fines of Ksh.50/= a day from the due date will be charged on all information materials on loan
  • Books returned one month after the due date will have to be replaced.
13. What do if a library book gets lost?
Report immediately to the librarian, replace the book after 2 weeks and pay a processing fine of 500/=.
